Imperator
"Imperator" is the form of address used to refer to any of the ten semi-divine Powers who wrested control of the Cosmos from the gods of antiquity. Typically, these individuals work cooperatively in pairs(1) to tend their duties, with one remaining to tend temporal affairs while the other sees to the proper implementation of the current year's fate from Heaven. They alternate in these duties by a schedule which suits their method, different from Empire to Empire.
1. Exceptions do exist, eg. the cold war between the Sand King and Forest Queen of Akkodia.
