Fort Alfein

This fortress was once the preeminent base of military operations in Chentrie. When the Empire fell, this fortress found less use, and the Darkwood claimed it. Over millennia it has been looted, mined, occupied, abandoned. Now a well-appointed ruin, it is the headquarters of a band of roughs who call themselves the Forest Bears. They are not the first bandits who have occupied the fortress, and previous groups have expanded and shaped the fortress over the years. It is a ramshackle forest castle now, functioning as a home, a hoard and a dungeon. The Forest Bears are members of the Ring of Plenty, making the fort a safe haven --at least from the law-- for bandits and cutthroats.
