Terres de Lancet

Area

Lancet is one of the northern kingdoms of Francalia. Its northern border with the Republican states of Fortdun  and Le Cotenson  is marked by River Cailleu .
It also owns a portion of the shore on the Lac Bleu . In the south, its border is with the Kingdom of Camarrie  along the River Camarillon .
It also owns a fair bit of the The Ocean  coast. Lancet benefits greatly from the traffic of goods from the rich northern provinces of Fordun and Contenson.
It is for now a Kingdom, but the influence of the nearby Republic can be felt at every level of society. The kings of Lancet have often had to toe a fine line to keep their country and influence alive and not getting caught in the middle of the two factions surrounding them.

Habitat

- Coastal Plain

Lancet is mainly a long cold grassy plain from the Lac Bleu to the Ocean coast dotted with a few rocky promontories.
The promontories are where the lords of Lancet have built their keeps and watch over their lands. The grass plains are home to ranches where large herds of cows, horses are free to roam.

- Sandy Coast and Dunes

The Lancet shoreline is very sandy and gentle. Along its miles of dunes, many trade and fishing ports bring Lancet most of its revenue.
Goods from all the North and West of Francalia finds its way to the Lancet ports. The two main thoroughfares from the Lac Bleu to the Ocean ports are very wide, and very well known as major trade routes within Francalia.
A good part of the trade will happen on the River Camarillon: another major trade thoroughfare or the kingdom. The capital of the kingdom is also found on the coast - Bordon, the keep of the Kings of Lancet has been built (and rebuilt) on one of the southern cliffs that at times rises from the plain.
The merchant town and harbor lies at the feet of the keep. Bordon is one of the largest cities in northern Francalia.
Another natural resource worth mentioning is the pearls and corals that can be extracted from the cold water reefs off the Lancet's coasts.
These are treasured commodities that have helped make the Kings of Lancet's fortune in the past. The pearl trade is very strictly controlled by the crown.
