The Rak

It's waters are dark, the light of the runeflower does not pierce far into the crushing black depths. I have often wondered what kind of monstrosities might live at the bottom of such a place, and if they wonder what kind of world exists above them.

Geography

The Rak is a lake located on the southern side of The City of Stadupglod that stretches 12,100 ft. deep into the rest of the magma chamber beneath the city. The light does not go very far into the water, so most of bottom is completely shrouded in darkness, save for a few bright spots made by some of the native Bio-luminescent fish and the panoi. At its widest it is thirteen miles across.

Fauna & Flora

Many different kinds of fish and sea creatures brought here by the panoi seventy five years ago, as well as native subterranean underwater species. Many are farmed for food for both Stadupglod and the Eight Cities of Octopolis.

Natural Resources

Seagrasses grow near the shallows near the southern edge of the city that can be harvested for food and medicinal purposes. Some minerals can only be found in the deep part of the the Rak, called the depths, and are brought up by Sheanoi workers. Many different types of fish and aquatic animals are caught and sold for food as well.
