Yaesheuhnahl

Contents

I pity you, a slave to a great and terrible master. You and I are nothing but pawns in their great game— but I am a better pawn than yourself.
— A mere pawn
Yaesheuhnahl— or Yaesh, Euhn, and Ahl— is an eldritch being split into three distinct consciousnesses, pitting their servants against one another in a great game spanning untold millennia across uncountable stars to determine which consciousness best deserve complete control over Yaesheuhnahl.

Symbolism & Worship

A trio of curios

Symbols of Yaesheuhnahl are split among the three consciousnesses, Yaesh's symbols are polished charcoal and fish heads, Euhn's are square-cut charcoal and fish torsos, while Ahl's are charcoal dust and fish tails.
Servants of Yaesheuhnahl will find themselves subject to heterochromia. If they already have this, their eye colors will simply change anew.

One at a time

Worshipers of Yaesheuhnahl may only devote themselves to a single consciousness— if they betray their master, they will find themselves split, too— their bodies moving on their own, and another voice crying out in their own head.
Rituals are performed largely in threes, with three performers, vessels, and repetitions— often on the third day of any given month.

The Pawn

To Yaesheuhnahl, humanity is nothing but a collection of pawns in their great game.
Communication is one-way only, and a pawn can only receive messages. How, exactly, contact is initiated is unknown.
Pawns are expected, one day, to face and kill the pawns of the other consciousnesses— should they flee, control of their body will be wrested from them, and they will face their foe.

Wait but do these 3 servants actually get any upgrades of any kind whatsoever or are these 3 dudes just judging their worth based on who can pick the best fighter from among their ranks? Do the followers they pick get a bonus in the eldritch magic they can use or does each personality agree to only give their followers a certain amount for a fair game? Sorry to probe but this had got me interested. sometimesieatcocacolacanssometimesieatcocacolacanssometimesieatcocacolacanssometimesieatcocacolacanssometimesieatcocacolacanssometimesieatcocacolacanssometimesieatcocacolacanssometimesieatcocacolacanssometimesieatcocacolacanssometimesieatcocacolacanssometimesieatcocacolacanssometimesieatcocacolacans Lemons are tasty.

They each have their own methods of training, they don't give their servants unfair advantages outside of that.
You ok there? I don't get the context for that last bit.

This... out of the three. This is my favorite. This entity is out there and I'm just stunned by the concept of it. The idea of the trinity is an amazing one and the consequences of basically instant multiple personality is just as amazing.   These Eldritch entities really feel aesthetically like they belong in this world. They feel like Aztec gods who were often just as alien in nature. Oof. I'm glad I read these. Great job man.

Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it, I accidentally skipped over part of my original idea when writing this that I only caught when I went to remove the note— but I liked them playing a sort of cosmic chess game still, so didn't add that bit back in.
