After riding for days down the river, my raft eventually came to shore at the base of Yathin. I had heard there was a place on the river, but many said to beware. They weren't as kind to strangers as they seemed on the outside. I have found nothing but sincere hospitality as of yet. — Last journal entry of Rylash Tyrnbok, an explorer.
Yathin is a small village in the south of the Carrow Swamp. It was first founded by a group of families moving south form Carn Town after being exiled from its boundaries. The people of Yathin prefer to keep to themselves and have a reputation of being hostile to many outsiders, though it doesn't seem so at first.
Description
The land in Yathin is very wet, with large portions covered by small lakes coming from the nearby river. As a result all of the buildings and pathways are raised by wooden posts above the water line. Most of the buildings are made of wood to ensure that resources can be easily found from the nearby forest should they get damaged.
Being a small village, much of Yathin's lands are filled with residential housing first. There are two main buildings for travellers, one for general goods, and the other being the local tavern. Flying from house to house and colourful banners and bunting, a celebration of living in the darkness of the swamp. Many of these banners are hand crafted from Cotton grown in the raised agricultural fields that the village has started to develop.
Was fun watching you make your "more wretched hive of scum and villany"
And yet! Carn Town is still standing. Time to find out the difference.
