Spartango

For adventurers who seek to understand the inner workings of the universe as they explore the dangerous world, temples to the Goddess Spartango will be excellent places to consult acolytes of the sciences. There is a small temple to Lady Spartango tucked in the far Southern Wall Road to this peculiar goddess.
Temples of Lady Spartango, the Lady of Artifacing, goddess of gadgeteers, and alchemists who seek the mysteries of the universe for the betterment of all can be found through the realm. Each temple is usually dedicated to a handful of specific lines of exploration. Her temples are normally open for worship for two hours in the morning just after dawn, two hours past noon, and three hours in the evening starting at dusk (when the sun first touches the horizon.) All other times the temple is closed to all but dedicated worshipers (who will be given a key to the side door with a small donation.)   All other hours of the day the temple is closed and strange colored smoke streams and puffs from many chimneys. Residents are also aware of odd noises of all sorts as well as other non-harmful magical effects at any time when the temple is closed to the public.   Donations are gracefully accepted by all manner of unusual automata. The residents of the temple regularly change the donation mechanisms to keep people coming back to see what they will do. They also take larger donations with suggestions for specific works like toys for children. The name of the goddess will definitely be invoked on behalf of anyone making an offering.   As a whole, the Temple is in good repair. However, there is a constant change of damage to the floors and walls. The followers of Spartango spend every morning repairing what they can. However, their prayers, offerings, and rights tend to make rather large messes of the place. Every carpet has burns and spots which they were not able to get clean. The curtains change frequently. Walls are likely to be just about any color and in various stages of repairs or improvements. The temple accepts donations of unused paints, and other building materials as much as coins.   The senior-level priests will generally greet the public in fine robes they keep carefully stored in inter-stacking layered chests (to keep any experiments from damaging them.) However, occasionally a priest may have been too distracted and didn't have time to clean up and change before public hours.   The main tenet of the Spartangian faith is that everything is knowable, epitomized in such slogans as:

"Rain may come from evaporated water, but have you considered what created the water?"

"If we knew how it worked, we wouldn't need to pray for insight, would we?"
