Into The Wild

Harbek's Hammer's had to move to a new inn because Hubert insisted he wasn't staying in an inn that allowed fights. The only problem is the group doesn't recall a fight or any other problem. Still, Hubert was insistent. With a shrug, they grabbed their gear and explored the village looking for a new place to set up in. After investigating carefully all of the available inns and taverns, carefully taste testing all the ales and beers, for posterity, the group decided a little inn on the north side of the town just east of the entry gate was a good location. They had a handy stable, a smith was nearby, and being between the back of the border keep and the town's new outer wall it was relatively quiet. They found a popular inn called The Lucky Lance. Hubert declared it perfect so they moved to the new location by the northeast village gate.   About this time Rita Copeland sent a guard to find the team. Arriving at the city guard offices they found that Rosalie Richard and her road patrol had been attacked by bandits. The patrol had escaped with their lives, but just barely. Rosalie Richard was badly injured and needing expert care. The patrol reported that the bandits had consisted of eight kobold warriors working with a few humans and one magic-using elf dressed as a druid.   Sir Sendel was very worried about this new attack on an official Aelargo patrol. Many caravans had been reporting thefts and other harassment on the road. This was a clear escalation and he ordered Rita Copeland to deal with the threat.   Rita Copeland decided to send Harbek and his team out to scout and if possible stop the bandit attacks. Rita was worried about the kobold involvement because there was a kobold village nearby known to the city. But, those kobolds had been farming and trading peacefully. So Rita wanted Harbek to find out if they or someone from that village was involved. He offered to pay 2 silver chira for each bandit brought in alive and 5 copper pence for each confirmed bandit killed. He gave them ten iron manacles to bring in any prisoners. Sir Sendel after Rita Copeland reported added a 10 silver cross bounty bonus if the party managed to improve relations with the kobold village. After a little thought, the group also negotiated a mercenary's license deal with Rita Copeland so they could legally make a bit more on any recovered riches. Expecting the group to fail Rita Copeland gave them a full Dagger's License for this one mission as a test.   The party was so excited by the prospects and good fortune they set out immediately to find the kobold village known as Salty Sands

  • Contract to act as Sendel guards to hunt down the bandits harassing the Sendel trade road. 2 silver chira per delivered prisoner, 5 copper pence per dead bandit. 10 silver cross bonus for improving relations between Salty Sands kobold village and Sendel.

  1. Find an inn Hubert approves. The Lucky Lance (3 pence per night per player, two shared rooms, and an extra copper ring for each meal excluding drinks).
