Old Palace Grounds Settlement in NEW WORLD SAME TRIS | World Anvil

Old Palace Grounds

The Old Royal Palace was for centuries seen as a sour reminder of the nomadic usurpers and their rule over the native Inzu people of the valleys. It was a symbol of repression and as the rule of the Unull dynasty started to grow weaker, it became also a symbol of how the nobility is rotten to their core and spoiled with riches and luxuries and bribery, and they do not care about the fate of the common people and their struggles. Instead they throw lavish parties, raise taxes to afford buying more goods from the foreign lands an dhoard food when natural disasters hit the kingdom and another famine started. For many generation, the old palace was a symbol of depravity and endless lavishness beyond the dreams of the common people and beyond any moral principles.   Then the revolution came, the old regime was ousted and in rage, the old palace was raided for its treasures and subsequently burnt to the ground by the disgruntled Inzu wanting to take revenge on the usurpers. The only thing that remains is the beautiful palace gardens with many lakes, rare trees and flowers and different gazebos to hide in. And also to do some other, pleasurable things than to just play music or sniff beautiful blossoms growing around there.   The vast grounds of the former royal residence that worked pretty much in its time of glory as a self-sufficient town, have been left to rot and decay as the new dynasty decided to built their own new palace as the main seat of power - better and bigger than anything before that so that they can display their full power and legitimacy. At first, there was a public outcry to destroy this place completely and erase it from the maps for good, to show that the reign of nomads is fully over, but the common people living nearby fell in love with the unique nature and started tending to the garden themselves, tearing donw the rest of the palace buildings to make more space for more plants and exotic fruits and animals to be kept as pets. Nowadays it is a popular place not only for dates and romantic walks through it for the rich and the poor alike, but it was also gifted by the current monarch to a famous theatre group to upkeep the place and make it serve the people back for all the cruelty of the past regime they had to go through.
