Iridism
Religious freedom is one of the main principles that has tranferred to the new dynasty from the previous regime, however, Iridism can be almost considered as the main religion of the kingdom. That is partly due to its pacifist nature and partly to the role it played during the turmoil that led to the establishment of the new ruling dynasty.
Iridism is named after its founder, prince Iri who has given out his noble status and all earthly possessions and estates to the peasants his family previously ruled over, after a paricularly bad flood has affected their province. He took it as a sign of heavens that when it comes to natural disasters and other great events happening in the world all people are absolutely equal in tragedy and should work together to build back the happiness to be enjoyed by all. Iridism gives great emphasis on sharing your blessings with the people around you and giving out a helping hand whenever you can. The worship is centered upon nature and preserving the peace and harmony of the environment people are living in. Due to these very resonating topics it quickly gained support among the low and noble classes of the society.
Over the centuries of its existence, a very wide spread network of temples and other charitable organisations attached to this religion was created, spreading the message of hope and community living wherever it went to. There is also a special part of the order of monks who devote their life to learning astrology and deciphering various signs in nature that might hint on the fact that another natural disaster is approaching.
Iridism has also gained on popularity during recent years, because it provided an important meeting ground to the various peasant revolution groups who originaly went to the gates of its temples for food for their families who were struck by the previous tyranical regime and had no other place to turn to. While the order spreads the message of peace wherever it goes and the revolt against the previous regime was never openly supported by the religious leaders, without the different peasant sect that emerged from various temples all over the country, the new regime might not have gathered the support it needed to lead the kingdom into the dawn of new age.
