Anyone who ever dared to visit the caves and tunnels within the Haiu Mountains had the chance to discover on their walls weird kind fo scratchy symbols etched in there. They might seem random at first but the deeper you venture down into the caves the more interesting patterns emerge. Scholars now think that it must be the written symbols of the Haiu people, semi-mythical tribe from which all modern nations stemmed from. To this day, the letters have not been deciphered, although many had tried and some of the symbols have been asigned meaning based on the pictures, sculptures or other artifacts they had appeared along with.

Haiu are believed to be the first kinds of people ever walking the Earth and in ancestry they are part human and part godlike. That's why the drive to decipher these writings is so big, because many believe it would help people understand better the nature of the world around them, and of course, maybe gain some cool magical powers too, who wouldn't want that. It is very modern to etch their symbols into ceramics, include them in caligraphy paintings and include them in some embroidery amulets and patterns that are supposed to help with memory, reverence and dealing with the past.

There are also people who believe that it cannot be the writings of the Haius, but instead it's either the work of demons and spirits that reside in the cavern systems, or they are the nail scratchings of tomb-robbers and other people who dared to try to find the hidden treasures within the heaven's realm on earth and were imprisoned in the never ending labyrinth of passageways, forever to be trying to find their way back to the surface. No one should dare to trespass the realm of gods not even in order to gain or rediscover some lost knowledge.
