General Su

General Su is the main heir to the honourable and noble Su family, which has recently fallen on some bad luck. Due to the cruel and sudden betrayal at the Northern Pass, all the males in this family (apart from the youngest boy) were slaughtered along with the units during the ambush. That left Aran, then aged 8 years, as the sole head of the family. And while many expected this house never to recover to its former glory as their political power diminished in one tragic event, current general Su is considered to be one of the most capable military leaders of the kingdom.
Also the most wanted among the eligible bachelors. Wink.
He is seen as the embodiment of many of the societal ideals that are put on men - righteous, strong, strict but fair, dutiful and rational. He puts the needs of his family way before his own, and he puts the needs of the common people way before his family's. While no one can truly be neutral when it comes to politics, his opinions are sought after among the ministers for their neutrality. The general rule goes, if Su thinks it's a bad idea, you should never even come close to doing such a thing with a ten foot pole.
While his public image might be flawless, Aran Su rarely seeks the company of other and is seen in public outside of his civic duties as one of the top protectors of the kingdom. While everyone considers him shy, his reasons to stay out of the public sight are much more simpler - the hunt for sweet, sweet revenge always needs to be a meticulously covert one, when someone gets knee deep into conspiracy theories threatening the fate of the entire nation.
