Satru Character in Mystimon Saga | World Anvil

Satru

The Inferno

The lord of the Undergrave, Satru was once thought to have been in league with the The Forgotten Gods during the Exile. Since then, Priests have suggested that Satru in fact hates the Forgotten Gods as much as everyone else, Verszagro most of all. To this end, Satru imprisoned the Apocalypse God in the lowest level of the Undergrave for all eternity.
Satru worshipers, known as Satruists, were once hunted down and put to death by burning at the stake centuries ago by an Inquisition led by the Temple, in around 1186 to 1237 2A, until the Allied Nations council revoked the Temple's power. Today, the Temple is not allowed to interfere in the believes and choices of the people, something the High Priest, Fae'roh Stormbreak Constopolis, has voiced his displeasure of more than a number of times.
Satru reigns over the Undergrave, a realm of fire and brimstone, which exists beneath Terr'ahna. It is said that he was given reign over this plane because the other gods were not too keen on the idea of him in the Sacred Nexus. He has frayed relationships with the other gods to say the least, Elzrava most of all. Apparently fire and water do not get along, even in the divine sense. As his realm might suggest, he is also the god of fire, as well as sorrow. As well he is the hero of necromancers everywhere, as the god of undead. He's also known by many as the Bringer of Dust.
Many Satruists have been ostracized for many centuries for their gruesome practice of blood sacrifices to their god, as well as their performing of dark curses and rituals. Though their practices are a lot more accepted today than they once were in the past, however Satruists are still discreet and secretive with their practices, in order to avoid the trouble.

Divine Intercession

Satru tends to offer his gifts to entice those on the precipice of yielding to his vile temptations. His curses come most often in response to those who break contracts in his name, or commit other personal insults.   Minor Boon: Pleased by your talent for manipulation, Satru amplifies your skills. Once, when you fail at the Diplomacy check to make a significant or consequential Request, you can cast suggestion on the target of your Request, suggesting the same course of action. This is a divine innate spell.
Moderate Boon: Your eyes glow red like embers and your skin takes on a crimson tone. You gain darkvision and fire resistance 5.
Major Boon: Satru helps enforce your bargains and contracts. When a creature enters a bargain or contract with you, uncoerced and of its own free will, it can’t voluntarily violate its side of the bargain as long as you uphold your side. You can always choose to violate the bargain yourself, but if you do, the creature is no longer bound to fulfill its part.
Minor Curse: Satru's flames burn you with great malice. You gain weakness 5 to fire.
Moderate Curse: Satru forces your compliance. You can’t voluntarily back out of an agreement or contract or go back on your word, though you need follow only the letter of the agreement, not the spirit.
Major Curse: Satru has taken note of the chaos you have wrought. You receive an ancient wound that feels older than time itself. You become permanently drained 4, and nothing short of another intercession can remove the condition. Your wound aches fiercely whenever you perform a particularly chaotic act, causing you to become sickened 1.
