Dagger Coast
Geography
The mountainous southern parts of the coast have few good harbours. Only the industrious Conglomorate have managed to build artificial ones to accommodate any vessels larger than small fishing boats. The cliffs are jagged and treacherous, which is how the area got its name. Even under the surface, there are enough "daggers" to rip through the hull of a careless ship. This has made it home to many pirates active in the nearby seas at they can often get away from pursuers less used to navigating the waters. The local population is very wary for this reason and are hostile to outsiders by default.
The Greyfall Mountains aren't as close to the coast further north, but there are still plenty of jagged rocks under the water. These new underwater dangers are often made out of obsidian rather than granite and might result from long-since dead volcanoes. The sea here is home to many bizarre creatures that can't be found anywhere else on Ailion - a significant number of which are extremely dangerous.
Ecosystem
The marine life is vibrant and varied along all of the Dagger Coast, but it becomes more dangerous and less lucrative the further north one gets. The waters outside the larger Baratox Conglomerate cities are often disturbed, and this driving away fish.
The Greyfall Mountains are quite inhospitable for most things but still home to some hardened small trees and bushes as well as its own linage of mountain goats. There are also plenty of more dangerous creatures, including many bears. It isn't recommended to wander too far unarmed.
