This white bug is perfectly camouflaged to blend in with its favourite home - the Crescent Moon Tree. The nectar from this tree is also the main part of the insect's diet. Since the tree is poisonous in almost every way, the bug is considered bad luck in the areas it can be found.
Actual use of the crescent moon bug as a poison is rare as the toxins are actually diluted by its metabolism, but that doesn't prevent anyone from seeing them as an omen of death. Details of this superstition vary. The Krynan will put wards to fight off any ill that might be heralded by the bug, while the people of Krenid see it as a good warning that will help them store supplies and protect themselves.
