The sabotage from Dhalgron
Dhalgron always wanted Igburn to disappear, so it makes sense that they destroyed Igburn!
Since Igburn got destroyed by lava, there have been some theories. While most of them have a dozen of followers at maximum, there is one particularly extended and followed is: "The sabotage from Dhalgron".
Summary
They talk of a spy, in Igburn, from Dhalgron. They say they came a few weeks before Igburn's death, always near the machines and the lava conducts. Always touching without anyone knowing what they were doing. They say it was because of them that Igburn die, because it decided to not listen to Dhalgron.
The day of Igburn's death, the spy was nowhere to be found. Years after, they found a single skeleton half-buried in cooled lava, in the building were it all started, where the machines and conducts meet. No-one was supposed to be in there, not at that hour.

Historical Basis
Igburn's death happened centuries ago, and thus, there is barely any document about it. There is no way to ensure what really happened apart from what the ruins can tell.
Researchers have learned a couple of things:
Researchers have learned a couple of things:
- Lava conducts did not seem to be secure enough to withstand lava for a long time (the pass of time may have affected this conclusion).
- The skeleton was from a child humanoid species. The researchers discard the "The sabotage from Dhalgron" because of this.
- The lava conducts broke in too many places. If this was sabotage, the lava would have started falling of the conducts when the first couple of breakpoints were done.

Great conspiracy theory! :) I like that the discovery of the skeleton added to the rumours, even though science has pointed out it's a child skeleton.

People can be dumb and ignore that science is based on facts, so it isn't a surprise that the rumours kept going :D
