Ashk-Gro Desert
Geography
The Ashk-Gro Desert is found in the south-eastern region of the continent of Faenir, with the Splintered Peaks to the east, and the sea to the west. It is dotted by oases filled by the rainwater which flows down from the peaks into the underground aquifers. Mainly, it is characterised by the rolling sand dunes, and vicious sandstorms shifting them from time to time.
Fauna & Flora
The Ashk-Gro Desert is a harsh and unforgiving climate, mostly inhabited by smaller lizards, and armoured bugs. It has large dangerous subterranean worms which inhabit the underground water sources. Camels can be found roaming the sands, though are quite rare, and don't seem to thrive in this desert.
Palm trees and various fruit trees can be found surrounding the oases throughout the desert. Otherwise, the only real plants that can be found in the arsh climate are various cacti and other succulent plants holding to rocky outcrops.
Natural Resources
The Ashk-Gro Desert is one of the main places to find more exotic fruits in Faenir. Apricots, Dates, Bananas and Pomegranates are common surrounding the oases of the desert, and there are many interesting pastes and extracts to be found in other plants there. Some of the strongest organic materials can be found here in the form of carapaces and shells of different armoured bugs in the region. Finally, glass blown from the sand in the Ashk-Gro Desert can be made extremely clear, and has an interesting property useful for retaining heat.
