Terrain in Hummel Quest | World Anvil

Terrain

The environments that your characters move about in can have different properties. Some environments may be difficult to traverse for a tank, others even impossible. To distinguish an environment’s particular areas’ properties, terrains are used to describe them.

SLOW TERRAIN

Vehicles can only move slowly on this type of ground. Reasons may be for example that the ground is covered in rubble or very steep. Any vehicle that enters this terrain moves at half of its Speed. If a vehicle has moved for more than half of its Speed on normal terrain during its turn, it cannot enter Slow Terrain on this turn. x

DIFFICULT TERRAIN

This type of ground may be very soft or rocky. Difficult Terrain acts like Slow Terrain, but additionally, a vehicle that enters it or starts it movement on it must pass a Mobility check (TN8/1). If it fails the check, it gets stuck. This means that it stops moving immediately and its Speed score is temporarily 0. Once per round in combat or every 3 minutes out of combat, the vehicle may attempt another Mobility check (TN8/1) to get unstuck and have its Speed restored. x

IMPASSABLE TERRAIN

There is no way for a vehicle to move through this space. It may be a solid cliffside or a line of tank traps. A vehicle may end up in this terrain by other means, in which case it becomes stuck (see Difficult Terrain).
