Some quote about what it's like to be a Ranger.— INTRO_SOURCE
Rangers are the Wardens of the Wilderness; they hunt and keep the natural order and balance of the natural areas of the island. They make sure that when they hunt they do so with the utmost respect for Nature. Typically, Rangers are part of their local Ranger's Guild as the guild would have agreements with their local Lords and Ladies which grants them special access to their private hunting grounds to patrol for Poachers.

On the
Isle of Appley those who wish to hunt on the island must be a member of the
Ranger's Guild of Appley. This is to prevent there being too many hunters in the wild, depopulating the wildlife. It is also to prevent Poachers tresspassing on the Duke's hunting grounds.
