Chapter 25 HOW DOES THE HUMAN HEART WORK?

The heart has a simple-by-design preoccupation with the survival of its host. As a physical organ, it has but one function: to pump blood for just one body, and not stop at any cost. In the SUPOX, the heart provides the willpower and intentionality required for its owner to seek life sustaining inputs. Not just food, oxygen, shelter, and companionship, but anything else the mind determines to be fundamental for survival. Furthermore, in the SUPOX, the heart also provides the willpower and intentionality to avoid things that threaten the person's survival. For example, the heart can instantly produce an almost superhuman amount of willpower to swim away from a shark, even if previously the person could barely tread water. Although complex, a person’s heart operates on a straightforward transactional basis. It registers positive emotions such as pleasure, excitement or companionship as good for the body, and registers negative emotions such as fear or pain as bad for the body. Each of these events is stored in the heart's muscle memory. Remembering each instance, the heart both craves for more of the good and seeks, by any means, to avoid the bad.
“Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be.” MATTHEW 6:21 NLT
The heart is not rational, moral, or capable of making value judgments. In both the NAPOX and the SUPOX it is simply a muscle, inseparable from the human’s mortal flesh. But that by no means makes it unimportant. It is equally the gateway for life and the gateway for corruption. Once corrupted, humans tend to set their hearts on treasure instead of life. For example, a man might set his heart on getting a new car, a new pay raise, or a new girlfriend. A woman might set her heart on a new handbag, a new pair of shoes, or a new husband. The heart is put to use by the carnal mind and diligently gets to work, providing the willpower to obtain whatever the eyes have set upon, both rational and irrational.     Excerpt From: Geoffrey Young. “Guardian Universe: The Gospel in Unexpected Terms.”   Chapter 26 DECEIVED BY THE HEART
