Chapter 24 THE HUMAN HEART

The human heart, remarkable in its intricacy, design, and function, exists both in the NAPOX and the SUPOX simultaneously, much in the same way as the human itself. In the NAPOX, the heart is a muscle central to a human's survival, and as everybody knows, it is responsible for moving blood throughout the body. In the SUPOX, the heart is the origin of willpower and intentionality; it is the powerhouse behind motivation and desire. These NAPOX and SUPOX functions are inexorably linked; they energize a person for the pursuit of life in both physical and spiritual planes of existence. Contrary to popular belief, the heart is not a moral compass or some sort of inbuilt guide which humans can follow to find ultimate health and happiness. Nothing could be further from the truth.   If anything, the heart can be understood as inherently and single-mindedly selfish. Its energies are expended solely in the pursuit of life for its host, the life of the human being to whom it belongs. With few exceptions, it pursues this goal to the exclusion of all others. And so, for that reason, understanding the heart is of paramount importance.   Excerpt From: Geoffrey Young. “Guardian Universe: The Gospel in Unexpected Terms.”   Chapter 25 HOW DOES THE HUMAN HEART WORK?
