Chapter 10 HOW DO ANGELS AND DEMONS INTERACT WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT?

Angels take their instructions, their assignments, from God and from Jesus Christ. Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation? HEBREWS 1:14 NIV

“Do you think I cannot call on my Father and he will at once put at my disposal more than twelve legions of angels?” MATTHEW 26:53 NIV
When confronted, demons either flee or hide behind human hostages. When using a human shield they will assert their right to be there by the person’s invitation or instruction. The demon is well aware that the human needs only to breathe the name of Jesus and that ‘permission’ will be considered null and void. Demons in the presence of the Holy Spirit are not dissimilar to a hunted animal in the presence of a hunter. They might hide perfectly still or suddenly burst into hysterics with fierce displays of thrashing aggression. They are no more capable of saving themselves than a bird that flaps in the face of a lion.
The impure spirit shook the man violently and came out of him with a shriek. MARK 1:26 NIV

When he saw Jesus from afar, he ran and bowed down to him, and crying out with a loud voice, he said, “What have I to do with you, Jesus, you Son of the Most High God? I adjure you by God, don’t torment me.” For he said to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit!” He asked him, “What is your name?” He said to him, “My name is Legion, for we are many.” He begged him much that he would not send them away out of the country. Now on the mountainside there was a great herd of pigs feeding. All the demons begged him, saying, “Send us into the pigs, that we may enter into them.” At once Jesus gave them permission. The unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs. The herd of about two thousand rushed down the steep bank into the sea, and they were drowned in the sea. MARK 5:6-13 WEB
