“Power-lust is a weed that grows only in the vacant lots of an abandoned mind. ” ― Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

  • New & unique Plants.
  • Escaped from the clutches of the Knox Arcanists (in a super cool way).
  • Entry into River's basement safe room.

Missions/Quests Completed

  • We woke up outside of Bira's Folly and discovered we all had the same dream/vision. Tremainn, using helmet of telepathy, compared his memories to Sorrow's and found them to be exactly the same.
  • All of us shop at Bira's Folly and a wide variety of rare & unique plants are purchased (thank you Vormund).
  • While shopping, Tremainn discovered that he can smell.
  • Once we left Bira's Folly - we went back to Kallum's warehouse and saw the same masked, cloaked individuals outside the building. Tremainn tried to use his helmet of telepathy to determine their intention but it was blocked. Inside Kallum's are at least 5 more of the cloaked a-holes (known to us later as the Knox Arcanists). Vormund saw that Kallum was tied up, so we leave the warehouse and intended to head to The Scarlet Candle to alert River.
  • Outside we were stopped by a tall, skinny humanoid man. We recognized him as one of the individuals that was speaking with River when we first met her (he left angry, telling her "this isn't over"). This man pulled out a crystal disk and asked who our leader was, Vormund stepped up and spoke for us/on our behalf. The man called us a band of terrorists and told us we would be going with him on account of us using magic on multiple occasions. He will not tell us where we are meant to be going.
  • Vormund explained that we would cooperate and willingly go with him right as Sorrow teleported everyone to River's House (suck it).
  • Sorrow, very considerately, teleported everyone onto River's bed. For no other reason than to give a soft and comfortable landing. Not because the bed was the most familiar object in the house to her. Obviously.
  • Edek, River's Butler, greeted us. He explained that the group raiding the city are called The Knox Arcanists. He asked us all to go to the first floor.
  • Inside River's bedroom, Lelk looked out into the city and saw that The Scarlet Candle was being raided.
  • While we descended to the first floor, Lelk called Orek with her bracelet and is told that he had just been arrested and placed in a windowless box.
  • Edek told us that the Knox Arcanists have multiple prisons and they are all black sites. Orek is likely heading to one of those.
  • On the first floor, Vormund asked why Edek wanted us down here. Edek told us that the first floor is the most secure, next to the actual safe room located in the basement.
  • Before we go into the basement, Edek asked that we remove any communication devices to keep the safe room secure.
  • All of us removed the triangle communication devices given to us by Ansel. The devices are removed with no issue but we all felt a weird tingling sensation. The devices were fused to our magical auras and now look fried on the inside, Lelk saw a weird ethereal dead slug in hers.
  • The devices were used to exploit us and could be the reason we lost an hour of our lives when we had the shared dream/vision. (Did something different happen in that time? Were we incapacitated or actually somewhere else?)
  • Possibly someone used these to try and take over our bodies. It is not yet known if it was Ansel or someone else. Tremainn deduced that also explains why Lelk was the only one of us without a black hole in her memories after our night of drinking at The Scarlet Candle - she didn't have her device in her ear.
  • After all communication devices were surrendered to Edek, we magically entered the safe room. Edek reveals a door that takes 4 turns to the right and 2 turns to the left to open. Once the turns are done a wall of purple goo appeared that we had to pass through to get inside.
  • The safe room/basement is a perfect paradise. It has a full workshop, bedrooms and a game room. There are two tunnels, one that leads to Kallum's warehouse and another that leads to the outside city near the Astorio Association. Edek sealed the door and told us that Kallum and River have their own means to get inside.
  • Vormund asked Edek about Lady Astorio and if she's a good person. Said that the Astorio methods are questionable but heart seems to be in the right place. Her allegiances are unknown but she is not a threat to River or Kallum.
  • We decided that we will continue with our plan to attend Lady Astorio's speech but we will disguise ourselves. Tremainn discovered internal components to alter the appearance of his skin suit armor stuff.
  • While we discussed disguise plans, Vormund felt a breeze and a void opened that a hurt/bloody Captain Riker comes through.
  • Captain Riker explained to us what was happening around the city. It was a coordinated attack on multiple locations by the Knox Arcanists. He said that the guards were told to standby but he stepped in once he saw the Knox Arcanists abusing citizens. He was attacked for trying to stop the abuse. He said if the council is behind the attack then he is no longer for the council.
  • He went on to tell us that the going theory is that the Council acts as a whole but he doesn't believe that and believes there are good people on the council and what's going on is not the actions of good people. He believes the 3 newest members of the council are responsible.

Notes

  • Edek told us that the Knox Arcanists are a group paid/employed by the Council to police the use of magic within Brudenia. The Knox Arcanist have become a malicious entity with the last year and are comparable to mercenaries. Edek explains that magic has been outlawed since the appointment of the 3 newest council members Akasha, Artus & Vincent.
  • Outside of Akasha's name, we don't have any information on this council member.
  • Artus is a Riker.
  • Vincent we met in Epoch Valley when we were shopping. He approached Tremainn while we were at Krypt's stall (the hard of hearing Dwarf with a literal mountainous pile of magical items/resources). Vincent told Tremainn that he understood his plight and wanted to help him out and be a good Samaritan. He bought the metals Tremainn wanted from Crypt for him. He is also the one who picked up a box from Krypt that Vormund got a decent look at. The box was black with spirals, runes and stars on it.
