The battle, if it could be called that, over the wagon is long since over. The driver and guards’ bodies and those of two of the horses are scattered about.
One guard is tied to a tree. His helm has been removed and he has no apparent battle injuries but his throat is slit.

Encounter area is not friendly to the Adventurers.
Surprise: No one is surprised.
The freeband’s search into the area can find the following clues:
the tied-up guard was interrogated using spirit magic before he was killed.
tracks in the area around the wagon are confused. There are tracks from people here who are not the guards and something larger that appears to have been dragged around. The large marks are only in the area of the wagon, but the people who are not the guards leave by moving a distance away to where horses are hobbled and then head east.
there are two crossbow bolts and a longbow arrow at the scene. The guard archers had shortbows. The longbow arrow is finely crafted and so is d8+1 damage if the hit is TH3.
the dead guards have been subjected to venom. The dead horses partially eaten by something large.
As the freeband gains the last useful clue, a Grush attacks the surviving horse who is watering nearby. If the freeband leaves immediately and stealthily, the Grush will not notice them. Otherwise…Grush pelts are worth 10 gold.
