Good eye! To maintain an air of consistency (and realism), the country names are driven by the predominant local culture (because culture tends to span multiple countries, and it would feel kinda silly if two countries, right next to each other and spawned from similar cultures, had wildly-disparate names). In turn, the cultures are given a real-world root, from which their country names are derived. So, all of that is to say that: you are quite correct that the countries of the Sontsu Peninsula (populated by the Sontsu people) have names that are inspired by Finnic conventions. However, the similarities end with naming conventions. The Sontsu people don't particularly LOOK Finnic. They don't SPEAK Finnic (or anything close to it). Their traditions have no relation to those that are practiced in real-life Finland. In other words, the "similarities" are truly in name only.
That works, heh! Cool how they look like proper Finnic, but don't mean anything. Except that random Kuopio, which is quite hilarious! xD
