The Royal Arcanum is the oldest, largest, and most prestigious arcana out of the nine that exist in the city of Lordspire. It is comprised of several buildings, its campus sprawled out over a wide area. Whilst many of the other arcana in the city specialise in their studies, the Royal Arcana has a number of different faculties, including but not limited to psychology, mathematics, natural history, and magic.
It is an incredibly difficult arcana for students to secure a place at, with several rigorous interviews in place before one is even able to apply.
It has been the setting of several controversies, mainly revolving around the ethics - or lack thereof - in some of its research.
