The Mirror Pool is the main temple of Nereus, the Lord of Water, in the country of Serukis. It is located in the city of Port Haven, between the harbour and the public beach. It juts out into the bay, its solid foundations extending down to the sea floor. Magical shields are kept up around its base to ensure the impact of erosion on the temple is minimal.
The Mirror Pool is a large rectangular building, with two thirds of it being built over the water. At the back of the temple, overlooking the ocean, the temple has no walls, exposing it to the elements and the movements of the sea. On particularly stormy days, magical shields are put up in front of the doors to the inner temple, and those who venture outside are encouraged to wear safety ropes in case of a rogue wave.
In the centre of the inner temple is a round freshwater pool, deep enough to cover a standing human.
