Ospid
Land of platinum
This article is a stub. Please comment if you would like it to become a priority for expansion.
At less than ten miles at its widest point, Ospid is the smallest island of what was formerly known as the Pid Isles. Much of the island is made up of flat, grassy fields, though there are a group of rocky hills to the north called the Domnites. All around the coast are sandy beaches, with the water being shallow enough to walk in until about a mile out on all sides.
Ospid's inhabitants are the Ospine, a group of hardworking and community-focused dragons. Ninety-five percent of the island's population lives in the port town of Boquīlle, located on the south coast of the island at the mouth of the river Sānge. The Sānge has its source at the centre of the island, originating from a vast underground lake known as Epīlace.
The island's economy is based around the seemingly limitless veins of platinum that run through the Domnites; both the raw ore and intricate crafted goods are exported from out of Boquīlle. Whilst much of Ospid's food is either fished from the ocean or imported from the neighbouring island of Tenepid, about thirty percent of the land is dedicated to growing rye. The island has three windmills that turn this rye into flour, from which the Ospine make an unleavened bread called rīpan (not to be confused with pandīne, an almost identical unleavened bread from Tenepid).
Fascinating! Given their wealth in platinum, is anyone sizing them up for conquest?
Serukis really wanted them to join them, but they didn't really want to pick a fight with dragons again.
