Lord's Rock Harbour
Home of the Seruic Navy
This article is a stub. Please comment if you would like it to become a priority for expansion.
The city of Lord's Rock is built in a narrow bay, where coastal rocks and cliffs have formed a natural harbour sheltering the settlement from the worst of the storms on the Grey Waters. The gap in the rocks to sail through is about fifty foot across, giving the city complete control of the bay. Once past the entrance, the harbour widens, and is able to contain a large number of ships, including around a third of the Seruic Navy.
A tower has been constructed on each side of the entryway, which act as lighthouses. They also are fitted with a winch system, allowing them to pull a heavy chain up from the depths and set it taut across the entrance to the harbour.
On one side of the bay, the poorer part of the city spills out into the water, with ramshackle huts on makeshift docks.
How deep is the gap? Given how narrow it is, I'd worry about it having sufficient draft. Do they require ships to hire a local pilot to bring them into harbor?
Deep enough that no ship will scrape on the bottom. I do think they would require local pilots to bring the ships in though.
