Whiptipedes

Whiptipedes are Crustarthoflect predators which live in Nege.

Basic Information

Anatomy

Exoskeleton

If you find whiptipede shells, you're safe.Whiptipedes don't molt where they hunt. Unfortunately they do molt near where they hunt, so the moment you leave the shells behind you're in the shit.
Whiptipede shells are up to 1 centimeter thick in adults. They molt their shells as they grow.   Whiptipede shells are quite hard, but can be broken with a hammer or small arm rounds.

Endoskeletons

Fossil records indicate that whiptipedes almost lost their endoskeletons, but as they grey in size the relevance of their exoskeletons grew and so they ended up reinforced. Whiptipede endoskeletons are almost entirely cartilaginous and form a long, rubbery spine throughout their body which grows as they do.

Pedipalps

Whiptipedes' pedipalps are segmented. When the whiptipede flexes their muscles the segments of the pedipalps interlock to become a single pole, which they use to spearfish or use their pincers as a hammer.
