Poshers
Poshers is a highly convoluted sporting game played by ship captains.
It is played completely as audio, and an announcer is describing, in 3D coordinates in a voxelized grid, the motions and movements of 4 warring teams of 48 players, each with their own individual stats, personalities, and movesets.
The scenario is played forward 20 seconds of time, every 12 hours, and shared by the announcers.
The sport is, of course, to the listeners, a puzzle. They idly Muse and wonder to themselves, among their crew, and with other captains what the next moves might be
For some, the sport is their instant connection with anyone else that they might meet. Even if you had your favorite team and your favorite players, you still had to know their poshers pretty well to anticipate how yours might react to them.
Gambling
For others, it's more. Its not just a puzzle to solve, it's a game to win. They're putting money down on a winner, because if they're right that's more riches for them and hey, maybe a thrill of power of "fuck you" to the other guy
So they make all these crazy models, guesses, ideas to put bets down before the next update. Earlier the bets the bigger the payout. And the bookies take a percentage of every stock, and stocks are cheaper early on and accrue payout as more buy, so no matter who loses the bookie always wins the more bets there are.
Its always hedon running it. And they're pretty good about messing it up when other banners try to steal some money by sneaking in a bet. Though everyone knows that's where the syndicate launders any dirty money
