Ancient Silver-Speak

The precurser to modern Silver-Speak, Ancient Silver-Speak was traditionally spoken during the height of the Disciple Order, before it splintered. It was commonly viewed as a means of communing with the gods themselves, and many modern prayers and hymns are in Ancient Silver-Speak.

Writing System

The Silvin alphabet utilizes only 14 letters, with 5 vowels and 9 consonants.

Phonology

Silvin phonology is similar to Earth's British English, however the double-v is pronounced with a strong OO sound, as in Ooze, or booze.

Syntax

Ancient Silver-Speak traditionally follows a pattern of subject-object-verb, however modern Silver-Speak has shifted to a more common subject-verb-object syntax pattern.

Vocabulary

While Ancient and modern Silver-Speak share an alphabet, their vocabularies share few similiarities. Traditions such as female named ending in "n" and male names ending in "a" continues to this day, however over time, the spelling of many common words evolved and shortened over time.   For example, "Sinvi" has shortened to "Sin" and "Prait" has become "Prai", though the meanings haven't changed over time. The connotations behind each word, though, certainly has.

Tenses

Ancient Silver-Speak has 3 simple tenses: past, present, future, usually with a dot over the word itself indicating what the tense is. A dot over the first letter of the verb is past tense, over the last letter of the verb is future tense, and no dot at all is present tense.
