In the Darkness, I Scream

A Poem

In the quiet of eternity, I scream, A god undone by mortal love, unseamed. In every star's flicker, his face I see, Haunting the universe, haunting me.
I loved him with the fire of a thousand suns, A love that scorched the heavens, unraveled the runs. But in my fear, I pushed him into the night, Leaving him alone, outside my immortal sight.
And then, the cruel twist of fate, Stole him away, sealed my heart's gate. In his absence, the cosmos weeps, In my soul, a black hole creeps.
For what is a god, if not eternal? But in my chest beats a heart, so infernal. Aching for a mortal, now forever gone, Underneath these stars, I am but a forlorn.
His laughter, a melody lost in space, His touch, a memory I can never replace. In my sorrow, even the stars dare not shine, For my tears are cosmic, my grief, divine.
Yet in the depths of despair, a whisper light, A sign of forgiveness, in the endless night. If his hand beckons, leading the way, I shall follow, come what may.
For in this grief, a resolve does ignite, To join my beloved in eternal night. Even if a billion stars shall share our fate, In the vast void, our souls shall congregate.
So let this universe tremble and bow, As I, a god, make my final vow. To the depths of darkness or heights of light, I will venture, to end this endless night.
