Party for Progress

The Party for Progress of All People, or the PP for short. is one of the largest political parties of the main island and is also the one who currently holds the majority in the parliament. Their main focus is on the interest of businesses, industries and the upper middle class. It is a very traditional mercantelian group, that emphasises self-sufficiency and continuous development and growth for monetary or spiritual gain. Despite their clear monetary focus, their members did not have to face as many financial and bribe affairs as some of the other established parties. If there is a scandal around, it usually has something to do with personal affairs rather than the affairs of the state and rely heavily on politicians not being able to cope well with being in the spotlight and having their every move scrutinized. Or just realising that some family secrets should stay private and buried deep underground. Combination of all of these factors is thought to have aided in their steady rise, as everyone in society - no matter if rich or poor - is concerned with how to get more money. Some people even speculate that they might be leaking personal scandals on purpose to make their candidates and representatives appear more normal while not damaging the trust voters have in them and the fact that they will not misuse the tax payers hard earned cash.
After gaining the majority for the very first time 2 years ago they added into their official name the adendum of "of All People" as a sign of appeasement towards the opposition and as a symbol that they will fight for the interest of everyone, no matter if you voted for them or not. Most likely just a publicity stunt to gain even more voters next time.
Their leader is Anna Udgasi and she also serves as the current prime minister. Their flag is dark blue with silver cog wheels crossed with a gold lightning bolt.
