Trywa
Trywa (pl trywan) literally means a covenant, and is the source of the legend that witches power is derived from a pact with the devil. It is also the reason some Wrecca believe in ectoplasm.

Material Characteristics
Trywa manifests most often as a crystal and rarely as a gel. The structure of the crystal is affected by source from which it is derived. A Dragon's pearl is a form of trywa.
Physical & Chemical Properties
Elemental trywan is the most common type found and used.
- Baelstone is crystalized fire and produces heat.
- Amelstone is crystalized water and keeps things cool.
- Greotstone is crystallized earth and stabilizes.
- Gethyllstone is crystalized air and cools and agitates.
Compounds
Bærnettstone is a compound of Baelstone and Greotstone that is commonly used to boil water in a Stirring engine and to power stoves.
Glaemstone is a compound of Baelstone and Amelstone that is commonly used in lighting fixtures.
History & Usage
Discovery
Zosimos of Panopolis discovered what he called hekat-an, or magic stone through the processes of alchemy he pioneered. The funny thing is, trywa is not made with alchemy. It was an gift from one of the Luminaries he accidentally summoned as he bubbled about in the magical arts trying to find a way to make magic with material substances.
Everyday use
Trywan is used in everything from automobiles, to airships, to stoves, to heating and cooling systems. In one form or another Trywan powers all life in the shadowland of Aernadael and beyond.
Industrial Use
Trywan powers the forges, foundries, and many of the artificers shops. It and various compounds derived from it.
Refinement
Trywa is summoned into being though the interactions of a drymann and spirit who together will the substance into existence in the mortal world.
