Nets are a way of capturing Medium or smaller creatures with ease, coming with a length of rope and quite a bit of weight.
A net can be thrown, like a
Thrown Weapon, up to 30 ft away. The creature must make an Acrobatics skill check vs the attack. If they Fail against the contested roll, they become entangled, becoming
Grappled and
Prone. If they critically fail the contested roll, they become
Restrained and
Prone. If the creature is flying, they start falling at the end of the thrower's turn, rather than at the start of their turn. If the creature is swimming, they start sinking.
Even while restrained, the creature attempt to escape using an
Escape Action | ◈. The DC to free themselves is equal to the result of the attack action. The net can also be attacked (its AC equals the attack result), and breaks if its dealt 20 damage.
Nets do not stack against a single creature.
