Condition: Restrained in CHASE SRD | World Anvil

Condition: Restrained

When a creature is utterly incapable of moving themselves, having more than two limbs rendered unusable.
The restrained condition prevents a creature's escape, and hinders them heavily in a multitude of ways. Different from being Grappled, being restrained is more restrictive, and often requires special conditions to clear.   While Restrained, a creature:
  • Has their Movement reduced to 0. They also cannot use anything with the Blink and Dashing traits.
  • Cannot use the Rush Action | ◈◈ or the Stride Action | ◈, and they cannot benefit from any movement speed bonuses from anything.
  • Cannot use abilities with a Somatic component, due to their movement being restricted.
  • Has Disadvantage on Attacks, as well as any d20 rolls (including Reflex Saves) made with Dexterity.
The Restrain condition automatically ends if the creature somehow exits the space of entity restraining them (they cannot use Blink effects, but someone else can). Otherwise, restraining can only be expire via duration or from something from the original effect.   The Restrained condition is a step above the Grappled condition, gaining all the harmful effects from such, but being much harder and rarer to apply.
