You're so practiced using fancy abilities in the midst of combat, you're seldom hindered when you're interrupted mid-motion. You can use a Shield as a Casting Focus, and you can do Somatic components of a spell while you are Restrained. Additionally, a creature would provoke a Reactive Strike /⮌ from you, you may use an ability (such as a Spell) instead of attacking with a weapon, as long as that ability can be used with 2 Actions / ◈◈ or less.
