Otterlings
Otterlings are one of the four sapient species of Kra, and the only ones in the whole universe that can withstand extreme levels of heat. Even though they resemble the physicality of any other fur-covered mammal, they actually live inside volcanoes and swim in lava lakes.
Otterlings are well know for their peaceful and easy-going personalities. While this doesn't hold true for all individuals, their culture based on personal freedom gives them no barriers when it comes to forging relationships with other people. They have a nomadic lifestyle, although most otterlings stay within the Fire mounts.
Most otterlings are very touch-happy. Hugs and hand-holding are not considered romantic or even friendly in any way. For them, hugging someone nearby with no reason or holding hands while asleep is just an instinct.
In fact, clans are not organized around a core ideology, but around a volcano. So, changing one's clan is as easy as travelling to the next fire mount. Clans have a certain structure, with someone leading it, who is chosen either at random or by popular vote. However, the leader usually gives suggestions rather than commands. Children tend to be raised by the clan as a whole; biological family relations don't have much importance in otterling culture.
Not only that, but their diet is mainly made up of cacti. Cacti are very wide-spread around the fire mounts, and otterlings have a sweet tooth for itchy food. It's a wonder they can keep their smile after swimming in lava and eating needle-like plants.
Furry friends
Otterlings are probably the most friendly people in this planet. Sure, longears will welcome you like a guest, but otterlings will take you in like a childhood friend.

Disorganized structure
Otterlings are somewhat organized in clans, but their structure is very loose and all otterlings are free to change clans at any point of their lives with no consequences whatsoever. The different clans have never been at war, at least not in recent history —I actually met an otterling who had been a member of all clans at least twice. Their clans are more similar to adoptive families rather than independent government systems. In fact, clans are not organized around a core ideology, but around a volcano. Hot stuff and itchy food
Otterlings have adapted their bodies to extreme heat, to the point where they can live inside volcanos. In fact, they only build their homes in inactive volcanos rather that active ones to prevent the buildings from burning down. And even so, the slopes of active volcanos are often populated with several groups of otterlings, spending several days in the lava pools. Not only that, but their diet is mainly made up of cacti.
