Kra
Kra is a planet in the Fire Red-22 solar system inhabited by several sapient species. Kra has two natural satellites, with varying names depending on the region of the world such as the Twins or The Eyes.
Kra's most advanced societies have barely entered their Bronze Age equivalents, and many still live in prehistorical times. For these reason, this is the only world where the other inhabited planets have not been revealed (in contrast with other worlds where a few select individuals are aware of our existence).
The singers are a species of giant animals with a general body shape that is similar to an arachnid. Eight long legs grow from their long and slim torso, and a single pair of big black eyes rest on a triangular head. Their body is covered by colored markings that glow faintly in the dark. The markings can apparently be of any color, but they are never multi-color.
Considered gods by many people, singers seem to be a special kind of spark, similar to those found on Earth. They can fully interact with the physical plane and seem to be at least self-aware. However, unlike sparks, they die in the physical plane —or at least their bodies do.
What sets singers apart is their ability to produce magical-imbued substances, the exact effects of which appear to be random. The singers live in a sort of symbiosis with the four sapient species: they use the singers' magical substances for their own purposes and, in exchange, they let them come into contact with civilization. For unknown reasons, the singers need frequent contact with sapient species —during my exploration through the wilderness, I found several dead singers that stayed far away from civilization for too long.
Sapient species
Waterborn
The waterborn are a humanoid species characterized by their blue skin and wide eyes. They are capable of underwater breathing, but they require fresh air from time to time —similarly, they can live on the surface for long periods of time, but they need to go back under water reguarly.
From the back of their head grow a set of appendages that might pass as thick hair at first, but on a closer examination they appear to have their own set of bone structures. These appendages are used by the waterborn to gather information about their surroundings, such as temperature, air or water currents, and more.

Otterlings
Otterlings are a fur-covered humanoid species that live in volcanic environments. In spite of their name, otterlings don't find themselves comfortable in water and instead prefer the welcoming warmth of lava lakes —the reason I named them as such is due to their physical similarities to otters. As far as I know, they are the only sapient species in the universe capable of resisting such high temperatures.
Due to their natural habitat, their main hubs of activity are isolated from the rest of the world. However, their seemingly innate curiosity and easy-going personalities make them the species that has spread the most all around the world.

Trunkfaces
A trunkface's most recognisable facial feature is a trunk, similar to that of an elephant. Its size increases with age, but it generally doesn't go over waist length. This trunk, other than being very useful for holding objects, gives trunkfaces a very keen sense of smell.
Their natural habitat are the red forests, which is probably why they evolved to have red skin. However, most trunkfaces no longer live in these forests and instead have founded the first cities of the world. They are not the only species to live in an organized way, but they were certainly the first ones and their society is the most influential of all.

Longears
The main defining features of a longears are their hair and, of course, their downwards-pointing ears. Their hair can grow in different colors, namely purple, brown, and red tones, and a single person will generally have several shades of the same color. Their ears tend to dangle, but they actually have full control over their movement.
They are the shortest of the four species, and they inhabit caves deep undeground, thanks to their dark vision. However, they are not isolated from the world at all —you can often find wandering longears travellers and they will welcome members of any species.

The singers
The singers are a mystery, and they shall stay a mystery.
Channeling
Once day, after realising that I hadn't seen anyone channeling in public, I decided to do it. It was nothing, just the right amount of energy to cook my meal, but a squad of guards came to me and I was banished from the city right away. I was able to go back with a different appearence, but I was careful to never channel in public again!Very few individuals are capable to channeling directly, and those who do either hide their powers or are banished from society. Singers are often revered as gods, therefore, being a channeler means stealing something from the gods. Otterlings seem to be the most accepting of channelers, and there are small communities of other species that accept them too, but they are an exception to the rule. Instead, channeling is manifested through the singers. From time to time, they produce a variety of substances that can be used as a channeling Key. However, unlike most Keys, these ones stop working after being used once. Additionally, they can only be used to channel energy with a specific volition. For example, you could obtain a Key for destruction only —the limitations can be wider or narrower, with no apparent logic behind them.
