Mediterranean Crown
Structure and governance
As a composite monarchy, the constituent countries of the Crown have their own individual constitutions and political organization. For example, the Monarch can't promulgate new laws without the consent of the local governments, and viceversa. There are, however, some actions that the Monarch can take without local consent:- Declare a state of emergency. In practice, the Monarch will always consult with the local governments if time allows to ensure their collaboration in the emergency.
- Mobilize the Mediterranean Army. The army of each country reserves a specific percentage of their troops to serve the Monarch's orders at a moment's notice. In a state of emergency, the Monarch can take up to 50% of each country's army, and local government can consent to higher percentages.
- Collect taxes. Each country has their own tax system, but a percentage of the collected taxes goes to the Monarch.
- Resolve disputes. When there is conflict between two constituent countries, the Monarch intervenes, ideally without the use of force. This is done through the Royal Audience, which also handles appeals to sentences by lower courts.
- Foreign relations. Individual countries are allowed to carry out their own diplomatic relationships with countries external to the Crown. However, the Monarch and their ambassadors are the sole representative of the Crown as a whole and can override the foreign policy of individual countries.
Currency
All countries in the Crown use a common currency: the golden florí and its subdividions, which have the following equivalences:- 1 gold florí = 12 silver sous
- 1 sou = 12 copper rals
- 1 ral = 12 billon ardits

xDDD The Crown of Aragon did marry to Castile in this world. The Mediterranean Crown appeared in 1713 when France (in this timeline) conquered half of the Iberian peninsula and most of what was left of Spain was the old Crown of Aragon, so they rebranded and went back to the "old ways" so to speak.
How dare you make it so we are important thanks to french T.T
