Lover's Requiem

Lover's Requiem is a unique plant that thrives in the mysterious Veilwood Enclave. It is known for its stunning beauty and intriguing properties. The plant stands somewhere between a shrub and a tree, with a thick, central central trunk, from which arise strong branches, studded with large, pink flowers. The purple leaves grow long and twisted from the main stem and have a sharp edge that can cause nasty cuts if you try to touch them. The flowers have well-defined, single petals and can measure up to 15 cm across. Near the ground, the plant often forms stolons with no leaves but a single flower.

Habitat

This strange plant is found primarily in the shady and moist areas of the Veilwood Enclave. It prefers to be near small streams and bodies of water, where the soil is rich in nutrients and moisture. These wild areas are often difficult to access and are surrounded by dense mists and a mysterious atmosphere.

Isolated specimens can be found in equally hard-to-reach places on the edge of the Veilwood Enclave. It has not yet been possible to cultivate the plant in other places, which makes it a rare and sought-after product that can fetch top prices on the market.

Usage

Lover's Requiem has a special meaning not only in the legends of the regions around the Veilwood Enclave. The plant has a strong influence on the emotional state and is accordingly often used in perfumes, love potions, and love spells. In recent years, the plant in dried, powdered form is also used as a powerful aphrodisiac. Unfortunately, besides the real powder, called "Lover's Embrace", there are also copies in circulation, which have been stretched with other, deadly parts of the plant.

Caution!

The leaves of the plant should not be consumed under any circumstances, because while they enhance the effectiveness of the flowers, they form a deadly toxin that makes death decidedly emotional but also decidedly safe. But even those who use pure flowers should be more than careful. On emotionally suggestible persons the plants have as strong an effect as on the bearer, triggering a mania that manifests itself in uncontrollable emotions and passions.

Sufferers are so consumed by their feelings, desires, and needs that they forget basic physical needs and starve to death under the influence of the plant and the emotions it induces.

To avoid these side effects, the plant should be used infrequently and in very careful doses. Nevertheless, it is selling like hotcakes in the big cities, where the decadent upper class has found another method to sexualize and expand their debauchery.

Yep, add something dangerous and it'll be snatched up by the aristocracy. I'm curious about the concept of death being safe!
