I’ll start the introductions off, I know these interviews can be hard. I’m Captain Douglas Macallan and I have been running the Indomitable for over six years. We run a long haul route for the Sobea Trading Company from Sobea to Meutharzen. I run a tight shift, but expect autonomy from my crew. I won’t baby you and show you how to do your job, and I expect you to learn quick and fit in.
You can sign on in two ways the first being Ad Hoc. You are on until you want to leave, and all I need is a heads up a few days before we hit port that you’ll be getting off. This goes two ways, if I want you off for any reason at all you will know a few days before we berth. You will get off: no argument or no pay.
The second is contract. You sign a binding document to be on until a certain stop in the future. That stop can be as far in the future as you want, and when we hit port that day your contract is up for renegotiation. This is a contract with me, not the Sobea Trading company.
I won’t ask a bit about your past but feel free to tell me anything you want. Just be clear that the past of you, me and my crew will have no effect on relations between everyone on the Indomitable.
This ship runs off logic and logs. If you need a sword you check it out from the quartermaster. If a line snaps you report it to the boatswain immediately. This keeps my ship running like clockwork and I expect you to be more than a cog in this machine. Your pay will reflect your actions.
Just be warned, the sea is not for the faint of heart. We run a route almost ten thousand miles long, and there are all manner of dangers that can befall us. I expect you to be able to fight if needed, and that is not up for negotiation.
