Since everyone comes from various realms, and there is no real standard unit of measure, a sort of compromise system was developed, since everyone's coinage was roughly the same weight, it was decided to use that as a base of measurement, much to the confusion of many during conversations...
To be clear - Something's weight in coins is NOT it's VALUE in coins.
