The Book of the Exziean

A book created by the Elder Exziean during the War of the Ancients, it contains the entire history of the Universe in its ever expanding pages. Hidden soon after its creation, it has been lost for eons and is spoken of wistfully, many historians wasting their lives in search of it while others scoff and dismiss it as mere legend or myth.

Appearance

Large and impossibly heavy for it's size, the Book is bound with a deep chestnut leather hardcover. The pages thick and heavy, yet felt-like and rimmed with gold and silver-green leafing. Delicate vines and leaves debossed along the edges of the cover, elegantly twisting around and hiding runes within them, and a willow tree displayed proudly across the center.

Unfortunate Creation

During a vicious battle against Corruption the Elder was gravely injured and forced to flee, his body broken beyond recognition and his life slipping away. In a last ditch effort to save himself from death he enlisted the help of the Oracle and together they drew out his soul and core, protecting it from his fatal injuries and giving his body time to heal.   Instead of improving their situation it added on a new one, his core warping before them and taking on the form of a book, its pages filled with stories. All of his memories, and all of his closely held secrets, recounted on its pages along with those of the Oracle's and everyone else in the Universe. Pages appearing with every second, words scrawling across the new space at a frenzied rate as it noted the locations and actions of everyone.

The Power of the Book

Overtime the Book developed a form of sentience working in conjunction with that of the Elder's, giving it the ability to feel and act on its own accord. With its new found independence it developed its own core, and in an effort to protect the Elder the Book enveloped and encased his core in its much larger and erratic one. Its core radiating and producing excessive amounts of energy in an attempt to ward off any who would wish it harm.   Formed from the life energy of the Elder, he can sense the Book and it relays anything that happens around it back to him. Limited to vague feelings and simplistic messages, on most days he is unable to tell what is going on, but during times of danger its fear stabs through him amplifying and mixing with his own.   Expanding with the passage of time as it records every moment of every being, pages materialize throughout it filled with different fonts and sizes. Pages upon pages filled with tightly packed tiny words, and some pages taken up by single words carved into them, the terror, fear, and confusion contained in them almost palpable. The story's point of view is subject to change every time you read it, though the Book seems to prefer third person omnipotent. All this culminating into the entire history of the Universe starting from the Elder's creation after the initial emergence of Miltiades and the dimension to the present day.   It also manipulates its contents, the number of pages changing on a whim, sometimes appearing as a thousand and other times as merely a hundred. The Book averages around eight hundred pages, only shrinking when it wants the reader to come across something specific as finding an exact spot in history, or an entry pertaining to a particular location is extremely difficult. And if you should risk closing the book without finishing what you've read, the likelihood of you ever coming across it again is almost zero.

Concealing Among the Few

Not only was the contents of the Book fatal if it were to fall into the wrong hands, but the energy it produced proved to be a far worse threat. If someone were to tap into and wield the Book's core as a weapon it would give them neigh omnipotence and access to its boundless energy. Then if they were to find the Elder's core energy in the depths of the Book's and draw it out, they could absorb it or destroy it, both of which would result in the death of the Elder.   Filled with fear after this revelation, the Elder tried desperately to reabsorb his core and unify his being, but the Book had already become its own being. Its own core rejecting the Elder's attempts, and only tightening its grip around his.   Then in a last ditch effort the Book was given to the Snyir vaf Lrucah for protection. What happened to the Book after that is widely debated, some say it still resides with the Lrucah at the heart of Miltiades' Tree. Many believe they put it in the possession of their most powerful member, hiding them away in a location known only by the protector, so that no one would ever get their hands on the Book. Some believe the Book was secretly destroyed long ago, and the Elder with it. And some think the Book never actually existed, theorizing it was merely a ruse designed by the Exziean to distract the Corrupt and send them on a wild goose chase.

Great concept - the book of the Sage's soul, warping to Oracle and Sage and recording the whoile world as they happen.
