Calendar of Boresia

Calendar of the Western Continent of Boresia. Used by the humans, dwarves and elves. Elves additionally use their own calendar, but the Boresian Calendar is used all travel and commerce related things.  
  Each month has three weeks of 10 days: 1. Moonglow, 2. Starsight, 3. Windwhisper, 4. Earthstrong, 5. Firespark, 6. Watertide, 7. Treesong, 8. Ironforge, 9. Spiriteve, 10. Sunmorn

  Events happening outside of the usual work routine:  
1 Moonglow Moonglow is often seen as a day for creativity and inspiration. Artists, musicians, and writers gather to share their work or collaborate on new projects. Many communities host open stage nights or art exhibitions, celebrating the arts under the soft light of the moon.
2 Starsight Starsight is dedicated to exploration and knowledge. Scholars, adventurers, and curious minds engage in discussions, attend lectures, or embark on journeys to discover new lands or ideas. Stargazing events are common, where people gather to observe celestial phenomena and share tales of the cosmos.
3 Windwhisper Windwhisper is a day of communication and connection. It’s customary for people to send messages to distant friends or family through letters or magical means. Markets often thrive on this day as traders gather to share news and goods, fostering a sense of community.
4 Earthstrong Earthstrong is a day for labour and productivity. Farmers work diligently in their fields, artisans craft their wares, and builders focus on construction projects. It’s a time for hard work and tangible achievements, with many communities holding competitions or fairs showcasing local craftsmanship.
5 Firespark Firespark is a festive day filled with celebration. Communities come together for feasts, dances, and games around bonfires. It’s a time for joy and merriment, where people share food and laughter, often culminating in storytelling sessions that weave together culture and tradition.
6 Watertide Watertide is a day dedicated to purification and renewal. Many engage in rituals involving water - bathing in rivers or lakes, blessing crops with rainwater, or participating in cleansing ceremonies. It’s a time for reflection and setting intentions for the week ahead.
7 Treesong Treesong celebrates nature and the environment. People spend time outdoors, planting trees or tending gardens. Festivals may include nature walks or gatherings where songs are sung in honour of the earth, emphasising the importance of harmony with nature.
8 Ironforge Ironforge is a day of craftsmanship and innovation. Blacksmiths showcase their skills, inventors present new creations, and artisans demonstrate their techniques. Competitions may be held to recognise the best craftspeople in various trades.
9 Spiriteve Spiriteve is a mystical day focused on spirituality and introspection. People engage in meditation, rituals, or gatherings to connect with the spiritual realm. It is common for communities to hold ceremonies honouring ancestors or seeking guidance from spiritual entities as they prepare for the week ahead.
10 Sunmorn Sunmorn is a day of rest and reflection. People take the time to mourn, visit churches, and honour their deceased family members by tending to gravesites. It is a solemn day dedicated to remembrance and community support, where families gather to share stories and memories of lost loved ones.
