Origins - June VSS Collab

"Transportation between the outer realms and For Storia should be possible. If the Gods can do it, then we should too, without the use of complicated magics. Honestly Breis, it shouldn't be that difficult."
"The difficult thing is making sure you have air to breathe once we reach the outer limits of our atmosphere. Once the station is set up, it won't be a problem, but until then it's my duty to keep you alive."
The ship glided to a stop just above the forest of red on Lanass. Inside sat a single individual. "Breis, what's the point of monitoring this insipid forest? Nothing seems to change."
"If I'm being honest Ruse, I do not know, but it is felicitous that the location of the forest lines up perfectly with Astoria's rise today. It will give us time to properly calculate the launch."
Ruse sat in the ship watching both the forest and the moons rise. Being the only driver and pilot from Ginshira capable of operating Breis, he was often expected to fly when he would rather be in his lab working through other problems. A ringing on the control panel drew him from his thoughts. "We should head back promptly, Ruse. It seems Ginshira has detected an invasion of some sort."
Ruse and Breis headed back to the flying city of Ginshira, cresting the tops of the massive trees. Breis hovered momentarily while they watched the city quake from some unknown force. "Is there no limit to what some of them will do?" Ruse asked himself.
A moment later they watched as something was flung from the city towards the outer atmosphere of the planet. "You don't think?"
"Another Yearot could have attempted your idea. It's not like it was a secret. What a strange time to be native to For Storia."
"Marklaban suggested that I not hide it. And I listened. We make more progress together than we do individually. Regardless, if we can make our cities fly, living on Archeart or Astoria shouldn't be a problem at all."
As Ruse and Breis touched down on the city of Ginshira, Ruse grabbed the crystal that housed Breis' consciousness from the system. "We should check in with Irthos. They should know what happened."
Ruse placed the crystal containing Breis into a console in the center of the lab. "Irthos, what's going on?"
A figure with icy blue hair walked into the lab from an adjoining room. "The harpy demanded a test launch" they said rolling their eyes.
Ruse laughed. "Well, in the not so distant future, we won't have to deal with her demands, I hope. The test launch should have secured us the funds we need in order to proceed with our next phase. Now we just need to survive outside of For Storia."
"Which moon are we shooting for again? Archeart or Astoria?" Irthos asked, sitting down at his workstation, swirling in his chair once and starting calculations.
"Astoria first, perhaps on the shadowed side. Make it easier to hide from those on Guadarnas."
"Agreed...What do you think it's like out there....in the Galaxy? Do you think we're alone? I mean, the gods have kinda fucked up here, their war and all. Do you think they made other planets?"
"It's not my place to say, really. I only hope that if there are other planets out there, they've kept the bee population high. I will admit I'm grateful Naten cloned bees to help. We should probably determine how to transport them."
"Breis, run a query. What do we need to do still in order to survive outside of For Storia?"
"Breathable air. There is a spell that can do it but you will need a high tier caster. Perhaps abducting Marklaban from his current assignment would work?"
"We should provide a focus for him. Something for him to put the spell in at least."
"We have an orb to put it in. If he casts the spell with enough power and intention, he could make it a permanent fixture of the project."
"Breis, is this a theoretical approach?"
It took a couple moments for Breis to ring signifying an answer and displaying plans on the screen. "From my calculations, breathable air could be produced continuously through the use of the spell and technology."
Ruse and Irthos studied the plans produced by Breis, silence descending on the room as they did. "Where in Aegimius do we find cloud slivers? Clouds are vapor. How does one cut that?" Irthos lamented after a couple of moments.
Breis chimed again. "You can find cloud slivers near Kilmoor, and Marklaban's last known location was in Guardanas."
"Kilmoor...that's that new alien city that flies over Vermillion, isn't it?" Irthos asked, pulling up a map of For Storia.
"Divide and conquer?" Ruse asked, looking at the map. "I'll head to Guardanus and find Marklaban, and you head to Kilmoor?"
Irthos nodded, gathering his things as he and Ruse moved towards the ports to head to their destinations.
Several weeks later, Irthos and Ruse regrouped. Ruse with an orb and a note, and Irthos with the slivers. With the final preparations, Ruse and Irthos were ready to launch. "I should go first," Bries pointed out. "Ensuring that things are set up correct in space ensures the survival of the rest of the project."
After putting the final touches on Bries; they stood back, taking in the station's beauty. "Guess there's only one thing left. Ready for launch?" Ruse asked. Such a simple thing, inserting the core that held Bries into the central computer, then undocking the arm and launching the system off of For Storia. How could such a simple thing be so hard? And yet, watching Bries travel through For Storia's atmosphere seemed to be the hardest goodbye for Ruse.
Things were quite in Ginshira for two and a half weeks. Apart from his daily check-in's Ruse was rarely seen throughout the city. "Ruse, RUSE! Irthos says it's happened." a messenger said, running into Ruse on the street.
A much more upbeat Ruse walked into the control room. "You've heard from Bries?"
"He's in orbit. He's officially a satellite." Irthos nodded.
Ruse looked thrilled, and began moving about the lab, collecting various items. "I'm leaving in an hour. Once on board, I'll send back the coordinates relative to Astoria and Archeart, so we can begin the next phase of the project. Descent to the surface of either moon should be easy now."
Irthos nodded. "Make sure Breis will orbit Astoria. Remaining hidden is important. We wouldn't want just anyone finding out what we're doing."
"Agreed."
Ruse left within the hour, as he stated. Teleportation to Breis was easy thanks to Irthos, previously setting up a teleportation station. "Just a couple minor tweaks are needed Breis to get you where we need to be. Arrange a flight to here." he stated as he input the proper coordinates.
Once in place, Ruse sent a message back to Irthos in Ginshira. A day later Irthos joined Ruse and rasped at the beauty of For Storia from space. "By Lanass the Red Forest is larger than we expected."
"Indeed."
"Ruse, Irthos another planet has been detected"
