Ophidians

Ophidians are humanoid in form but have several distinctive snake-like features. One of the most distinguishing features of these peoples are their long flexible bodies that are covered in scales instead of skin. Some Ophidians have a long tail that tapers to a point instead of legs, which is often used for better balance, swimming, or for some as a weapon, while others have stronger arms and legs with a more snakelike upperbody. Some Ophidians may have a snake-like head with elongated jaws and sharp teeth, hood, or frills which can be used for intimidation, or they could have a more humanoid head. Eye color's are typically in the golden or red shades with slit pupils. Forked tongues are frequently common in Ophidians giving them an easy ability to sense their environment and track their prey.

More powerful Ophidians may have venomous fangs, or strength enough to constrict their prey.

Flexible Bodies

Ophidians will be more flexible and agile than most humanoid species. They can contort their bodies in unusual ways and many can often squeeze through smaller spaces.

Reptilian Strength

The snakelike portion of an ophidians body would be much stronger than their humanoid body parts, giving them an advantage in overpowering their opponents.

Solitary

Tending to hunt and work in solitude, they have a reputation for being cunning and patient hunters.

Stealth and Silent

With their scaled bodies they are easily able to distribute their weight and move both stealthy and silently when necessary.

Adaptablity

Some have the ability to change their scales to blend in with their environment.

Poisonous Venom

Most Ophidians can shoot out poisonous venom from special glands in their mouths. This venom can also be injected through a bite. They are also known for their knowledge of poisons and toxins.

Environment and Habitat

On For Storia, specifically Fika, we find most Ophidians in a settlement under the kingdom of Cindurria, where they were driven by Elven conquistadors after the Divine Diaspora. The city of Snakehelm, specifically, is a testament to the ingenuity of the Ophidians.
