Fest of Parents

History

The Fest of Parents is a national holiday in the Menait Dynasty and has its origin in the Orcish worship of the Keeper of Memories. By celebrating parents yearly, one keeps the memory of those who came before us alive. And in Orcish families, this is very important. No one knows the exact start of the holiday, however the Fest of Parents exists thought out much of Milleadh, particularly when there is a large Orcish community.

Each fest is celebrated in the family unit. Many families celebrate with enormous meals and reunions with extended families. Larger Orcish communities hold festivals, and mark the day as a public holiday, giving the families the chance to cook elaborate dinners and celebrate the memories of those longer with them. Candles, reliefs, and other tokens of parents are placed in prominent locations around family homes. Living parents are often present with homemade gifts from their children.
