Entropic Scourge
The Decay from N'all
A Widespread Sickness
A newly found magical disease known as The Entropic Scourge is beginning to sweep through the southern regions of Hroff and Tok. It seems to be feasting off of organic matter indiscriminately, latching onto it with a thick layer of black amorphous ooze. Though it creeps ever so slowly, it has already consumed the entire continent of N'all due to the magical madness caused to sentient creatures on its lands. Some theorize that the magical madness is linked to this new sickness, perhaps manifesting a physical form to bypass the curse that struck those lands over a millennia ago.Symptoms & Effects
The symptoms and effects vary depending on the affected host, adapting in such a way that encourages the best way to proliferate.Flora
From the outside, flora seems to be unaffected by the scourge except by the most trained in nature, however, this couldn't be further from the truth and is likely an evolutionary advantage to infect unassuming potential hosts. Plantlife infected excrete a sap-like translucent substance that holds the scourge inside of it. This also seems to cause the roots of the plants to spread further and cause a symbiotic relationship with other plant-life as if interconnecting much like mushrooms' mycorrhizal network. It seems almost like the plants have a hive-mind of sorts, reacting to environmental hazards and warning other plants in the area to either reinforce or retreat from the given area.Fauna
Wildlife affected by the scourge exhibit strange growths of bone and plating all over their bodies very similar and virtually indistinguishable from dire forms of animals save a strange proboscis-like tongue. The tongue is capable of injecting thousands of microfilariae into its host, though many hosts' immune-systems seem to fend off a majority naturally.Still, the concern is very real as dozens usually survive and grow to fruition that eventually breaks through the hosts' skin and falls to the ground seeking to burrow into the earth to feast off of underground flora.

Man, i love finding new worlds! well done here. Found a little typo here, if it interests you. "While it sleeps, the infect walks to a nearby infected location laying on the cold earth until" I think you meant infection, or perhaps infection forces the host to walk? either way, the intent is clear. Well done. i like the idea that it waits for REM sleep. That's a nice touch, and a hivemind to book. Excellent work. Enjoy the follow!
Thanks for pointing that out! Updated!
